Malik - Sura: 55. Ar-Rahman - The Beneficent

  1. The Compassionate (Allah).

  2. Who taught you the Qur’an.

  3. Created man.

  4. And taught him how to speak and convey his feelings and thoughts.

  5. The sun and the moon move along their computed courses.

  6. The shrubs and the trees prostrate in adoration.

  7. He has raised the heaven on high and created the balance:

  8. Don’t ever tamper with this balance.

  9. Therefore, you also establish weight with justice and do not give less measure.

  10. He laid out the earth for His creatures,

  11. With all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,

  12. And grain with husk and scented herbs.

  13. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  14. He created man from sounding clay similar to pottery,

  15. And created jinns from smokeless fire.

  16. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  17. He is the Rabb of the two easts and the Rabb of the two wests.

  18. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  19. He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,

  20. Yet, between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.

  21. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  22. He produces pearls and coral, from both of them.

  23. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  24. His are the ships looming up like mountains on the sea.

  25. So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  26. All that exists on the earth will perish,

  27. But the Face of your Rabb will remain full of Majesty and Glory.

  28. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  29. All who dwell in the heavens and the earth, implore Him for their needs, every day He is busy in some mighty task.

  30. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  31. O you, the two burdens (jinns and mankind)! Soon We shall find the time to call you to account.

  32. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  33. You, the assembly of jinns and men! If you have the power to get away from the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (to escape from His punishment), then get away! You cannot get away except with Our authority.

  34. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  35. The flames of fire and molten brass will be unleashed on you both, jinns and men, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.

  36. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  37. When the heaven splits asunder and reddens like red-oil.

  38. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  39. On that Day neither man nor jinn will need be asked about his sins.

  40. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  41. Because the sinners will be recognized by their faces and they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

  42. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  43. It will be said to them: “This is the hell which the criminals had denied."

  44. They shall wander to and fro between fire and hot boiling water.

  45. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  46. For those who fear standing before their Rabb, there will be two gardens.

  47. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  48. Having shady trees with lush green branches.

  49. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  50. In both of them there will be two flowing springs.

  51. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  52. In both of them there will be two kinds of every fruit.

  53. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  54. They will recline on couches lined with rich brocade while the fruit of the gardens will be within their easy reach.

  55. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  56. Therein will be chaste virgins, whom neither man nor jinn has touched before.

  57. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  58. So beautiful as though they were rubies and corals.

  59. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  60. Could the reward for goodness be anything but goodness?

  61. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  62. And besides these two there shall be two other gardens.

  63. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  64. Densely shaded with dark green trees.

  65. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  66. In both of them there will be two gushing springs.

  67. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  68. Each planted with fruit trees, dates and pomegranates.

  69. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  70. In each of them, there will be chaste and beautiful virgins.

  71. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  72. Hûris (beautiful damsels) sheltered in their tents.

  73. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  74. Whom neither man nor Jinn has ever touched before.

  75. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  76. Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.

  77. Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

  78. Blessed be the name of your Rabb, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
