Sura: 35 Verse: 8Sura: 35 Verse: 10

Original Book

Ahmed Ali

It is God who sends the winds that raise the clouds. Then We drive the clouds towards the land that was dead, and restore the earth to life after it had died. So will be the Resurrection.

Ali Ünal

God is He Who sends forth the merciful winds, so that they set clouds to move, and We drive them towards a dead land and (thereby) We revive the earth after its death (with the rain carried in the clouds by the wind). Even so will the Resurrection be.

Amatul Rahman Omar

And Allâh is He Who sends the winds which raise (vapours in the form of) clouds. (When the clouds rise) We drive them towards a tract of land which has no sign of life and make thereby the barren land fertile, green and flourishing. That is how the quickening (of the dead shall come to pass).

Asad

AND [remember:] it is God who sends forth the winds, so that they raise a cloud, whereupon We drive it towards dead land and thereby give life to the earth after it had been lifeless: even thus shall resur-rection be!

Daryabadi

And it is Allah Who sendeth the winds, and they raise a cloud; then We drive it unto a dead land and We quicken thereby the earth after the death thereof. Even so shall be the Resurrection.

Faridul Haque

And it is Allah Who sent the winds - so they raise clouds and We then direct it towards a dead city – so with it We revive the earth after its death; and this is how the resurrection will be.

Hamid S. Aziz

What! Is he whose evil deed is made fair-seeming to him so that he considers it good (other than Satan´s dupe)? Now surely Allah sends astray whom He will and guides aright whom He will, so let not your soul waste away in grief (expire in sighing) for them; surely Allah is Aware of what they do.

Literal

And God is who sent the winds/breezes, so it erupts and spreads clouds, so We drove it to a dead country/land , so We revived with it the land/Earth after its death/lifelessness, as/like that (is) the revival/resurrection.

Malik

It is Allah Who sends forth winds to raise up the clouds, then drives them to a dead land and therewith revive the earth after its death. Similar will be the resurrection of the dead.

Maulana Mohammad Ali

Is he whose evil deed is made fair-seeming to him so that he considers it good? -- Now surely Allah leaves in error whom He pleases and guides aright whom He pleases, so let not thy soul waste away in grief for them. Surely Allah is Knower of what they do.

Muhammad Sarwar

It is God who sends the winds to raise the clouds. We then drive them unto barren areas and revive the dead earth. (The Resurrection) will also be executed in the same way.

Pickthall

And Allah it is Who sendeth the winds and they raise a cloud; then We lead it unto a dead land and revive therewith the earth after its death. Such is the Resurrection.

Shakir

And Allah is He Who sends the winds so they raise a cloud, then We drive it on to a dead country, and therewith We give life to the earth after its death; even so is the quickening.

The Noble Koran

And it is Allah Who sends the winds, so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land, and revive therewith the earth after its death. As such (will be) the Resurrection!

Yusuf Ali

It is Allah Who sends forth the Winds, so that they raise up the Clouds, and We drive them to a land that is dead, and revive the earth therewith after its death: even so (will be) the Resurrection!
